Dr. Hourani received his medical education at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed his residency at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC). He then completed a fellowship in cardiology at St. John Providence Hospital in Southfield and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. His undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Hourani is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and the National Board of Echocardiography.

Dr. Hourani has special interest in valvular heart disease, coronary and peripheral interventions as well as adult congenital heart disease.

Dr. Hourani believes that building a strong relationship with both patients and their primary care physician allows him to understand and work towards their needs and provide them with updated Cardiovascular management to enhance their well-being and prevent the need for invasive procedures.

Dr Kotak, MD,MS, FHRS

Dr. Kotak is a board certified cardiac electrophysiologist. He is an expert in treating various heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmia) especially Atrial fibrillation (Afib). Dr. Kotak has extensive experience in performing advanced complex procedures to treat heart rhythm disorders such as ablation. He is also expert in implanting pacemakers and defibrillators.

Dr. Kotak is passionate about the heart rhythm disorder specialty as well as its ability to improve lives of patients with these serious disorders. He takes pride in taking time to explain disease condition and treatment options in detail. He believes that well informed patients who feel confident about their doctor, make the best decision for themselves. He makes sure that his patients well informed and feel confident as well as comfortable with their treatment plan.

Education

After completing six-year medical school from prestigious SP University, Dr. Kotak completed internship in general surgery at University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. He also completed Masters in Clinical Research. Dr. Kotak has published several publications and a book chapter. Subsequently, he completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology training from University of California San Francisco (UCSF-FMEP). He then went on to compete a fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology from UCLA-Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.

Dr. Kotak is board certified in Internal medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is a Fellow of Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS).

Dr. Kotak performs procedures in a very advanced state of the art electrophysiology lab at Sharp Grossmont Hospital which has the best available tools and technology in US. Dr. Kotak is expert in performing minimally invasive procedure where patients go home same day after most of the procedures. Dr. Kotak has performed hundreds of ablation procedures and also holds experience in advanced robotics ablation. He performs treatment for various heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation (Afib), Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), Premature ventricular complexes (PVC/Skipped beats), Ventricular tachycardia (VT) etc. In addition, he implants various cardiac devices such as pacemaker, defibrillator and loop recorder. He also provides device clinic services where patients devices can be monitored both by visiting clinic and remotely through computer.
